Job Summary
The IT Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operation of systems and services. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, supporting end users, and coordinating with vendors to maintain high service uptime.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to users.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Respond to service tickets within defined SLA timelines.
2. Systems & Infrastructure Support
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Support Windows/Linux operating systems and standard business applications.
Assist in server, storage, and backup operations.
3. Network & Connectivity
Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity issues.
Coordinate with ISPs and network vendors for issue resolution.
4. IT Asset & Vendor Management
Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
Coordinate with vendors for AMC, repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
5. Security & Compliance
Ensure antivirus, patching, and security updates are up to date.
Follow IT security policies and data protection standards.
Support audits and compliance requirements.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and incident reports.
Provide daily/weekly service status updates to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
✅ Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Electronics or related field
✅ 3 years of experience as an IT Service Engineer / IT Support Engineer
✅ Strong knowledge of Windows OS, basic Linux
✅ Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting
✅ Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
✅ Familiarity with ticketing tools and ITIL processes
✅ Good communication and customer service skills
Preferred Skills
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
Knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365
ITIL certification
Experience in ERP or enterprise application support
