Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, driving sales, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role involves assisting in achieving store targets, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring smooth store functioning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations
Assist in managing day-to-day store operations.
Ensure store cleanliness, visual merchandising, and display standards.
Support store opening and closing procedures.
2. Sales & Performance Support
Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets.
Promote upselling, cross-selling, and promotional activities.
Monitor sales trends and provide feedback for improvement.
3. Team Supervision
Assist in training, guiding, and supervising store staff.
Help prepare duty rosters and manage attendance.
Motivate team members to meet individual and store goals.
4. Customer Service
Ensure high standards of customer service on the shop floor.
Handle customer queries and complaints effectively.
Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
5. Inventory & Stock Control
Assist in monitoring inventory levels and stock replenishment.
Support stock audits and ensure accurate inventory records.
Help prevent stock loss, pilferage, and damages.
6. Cash Handling & Reporting
Support billing operations and cash handling procedures.
Assist in daily cash reconciliation and reporting.
Prepare operational and sales reports for management review.
Required Skills & Qualifications
✅ Graduate in any discipline (Retail Management preferred)
✅ Minimum 3 years of experience in retail, including supervisory responsibilities
✅ Strong communication skills (Hindi mandatory; English preferred)
✅ Customer-focused and sales-driven attitude
✅ Basic computer knowledge (POS systems, MS Excel)
✅ Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Skills
Experience in retail segments such as apparel, FMCG, electronics, or lifestyle
Knowledge of visual merchandising standards
Ability to handle high-footfall environments
